Every teacher goes about teaching a little differently. There is not, nor should there be, a “cookie cutter mold” for effective educators. Students benefit greatly from experiencing a variety of teaching styles.

When you are planning a lesson, the most vital part is the objective. What do you want your students to take away from the lesson? If the objective is powerful, deep, and reflects what you really want students to learn, it will be reflected in the lesson.

It's easy to tell the ways to be a good teacher, but it's hard to follow the those ways.
For me, I think a good teacher is called by the others or students so that your main duty is to do something good for the others as many times as you can in order to make their life better. The teacher has a main duty to teach that is not only to teach about academic knowledge but to teach living skill also. The teachers should devote intentionally their knowledge, time and energy to the public.
Finally, I think the good teacher is the person who gives sincerely something good to the others without asking for anything.

Best way is to start with a story or humor. You will impress the class. Keep pace with your students. Don't have an objective of completing the course, Keep an objective that students should benefit. Try not to stray away from the material too much but if you have stories or memories pertaining to the subject then tell them as it can help the students learn. Just listen to your students, that's the best thing you can possibly do.
