What are the effects of Facebook?

There are the both positive and negative effects of Facebook. Nowadays, Facebook play a big role in our lives, no matter who has Facebook profile. On the positive side, I think Facebook is very useful. We can keep in touch with anyone of every corner of the world. We can share information, news, pictures, etc to our friends. In addition, we can discuss and exchange our opinions with our friend through Facebook as well. Moreover, Facebook makes us to be updated all the time. However, Facebook can bring bad things to users if they use it in the wrong way. It may cause of the conflict especially the conflict on the politic, or it may bring the obscene pictures which cause of crime, and etc. We can use it by using our judgement and use it in the right way, anyway. We should manage the time to spend on Facebook because it may waste our time sometime. Many students got lower grades because they spend too much time on Facebook instead of reading books. Moreover, they have less concentration when they study which caused by Facebook.

Facebook is a very popular social networking site with over eight hundred million users. As an avid user of Facebook myself, I find it hard to believe that at one point it didn't exist. In fact, it has become so much a part of people's lives that you can learn their life story just by checking their page. Their friends, likes and dislikes, relationship status, phone number, address, everything. Sounds a little dangerous. There are positive and negative effects that Facebook has on people, and they can be quite significant.
The Positive Effects
-Keeping in touch with family and friends- Facebook is a great way to keep in touch with your family and friends that live far away. With instant messaging and even video chat, Facebook is the perfect environment to stay connected.
-Making new friends- Facebook makes meeting new people extremely easy due to the fact that it allows you to add up to thousands of friends, and acts as a social melting pot of the internet.
The Negative Effects
Critics of Facebook claim that it is a worldwide distraction and even obsession that amounts to nothing except for significant amounts of time wasted. There is even a group that is trying to stunt the influence of Facebook called "Facebook Detox." Facebook is notorious for causing couples to break up. Let's face it, no one wants to see their girlfriend/boyfriend telling other people that they look cute, or liking their pictures, or instant messaging them constantly. It builds up jealousy, which causes quite a bit of tension in a relationship.

I read some research about the effects of facebook , studies have revealed that excessive daily use of social media can negatively affect the health of children, preteens and teenagers alike as they are more prone to anxiety, depression and other psychological disorders as well as more susceptible to future general health problems.Furthermore, it is clear that school grades will suffer when spending too much time on Facebook as valuable study time is lost. “Studies found that middle school, high school and college students who checked Facebook at least once during a 15-minute study period achieved lower grades.”
I think facebook is bad for childhood!!

It can make you addicted Facebook so that you have to use Facebook everyday.
It provides you many interesting stories such as the news about technology , the fashion , the political news , etc.
It is easy to communicate with the others if you are not at the same place with the others.
It is one of the way to relax because you can post your thought into you Facebook.

Despite the good uses of Facebook, it has its disadvantages.

-Waste of life! Using Facebook for your need is fine
but when you waste most of your valuable time then it is not good.
Many hours may also pass and you could have done something

Facebook, the social network which is very well known in Thailand now, has both good and bad points.The bad effect of Facebook is the I can't easily log off when I log in. I spend a lot of time on Facebook. That really hurts my eyes. The good point is that it is the place where I can contact with my friends both Thai and foreigners. This site is also very useful as someone uses it to read the news.
Anyway, I think Facebook is one of the best social network if we wisely use it.

For the good side: It can help us to communicate easily, we can share many information,
It is relaxing and everything is for free.

For the bad side: You will use it all the time or you addict it, you will focus on Facebook
