What are the bad effects of facebook?

Facebook is my favorite website. It gives me many good points, such as can contact family & friends, near & far, can upload photos & organize them into albums, can share work file with friends etc. But it give me some bad effects in the same time. For example, Facebook can form unhealthy habits and even develop personality disorders in your children and teens, teens and young adults that log onto Facebook constantly tend to be more narcissistic, the students who logged in to their Facebook during studying ended up doing worse on their exams than those that didn’t, whatever you choose to post online can never be entirely private. The first negative effect that Facebook can have on your life is, to some capacity, a result of your own doing. Whether of a direct or an indirect action, undesirable information about us can spill beyond the boundaries of chosen privacy settings and end up in the hands of a third party.

The internet has become a big part of our everyday lives. We use it for almost everything including research,
pleasure, social networking, and so much more. It has become a way of life.
I spend a lot of my own free time browsing the internet.
The social networking site Facebook is among one of the most popular sites visited.  
One negative effect Facebook has on us is it decrease our ability to communicate.
I think the biggest, negative impact Facebook has on our lives is loss of privacy.
You have to  be careful as to what you actually want to share for anybody to see.

These are the bad effect that I know:
-People can stalk you and get your personal information by using Facebook.
-Facebook addicted students do not get good marks in their exams unless they are too smar
-here are plenty of groups are being created to abuse or violate other religion.

1.It's not REALLY privacy.
Even though, you've set it into privacy but, it's not. Whenever you are logged in at the internet cafe', this computer will remember your password as a public.

2.So Addicted.
As you all know, Facebook is very addictive. I will not have any time to do homework, housework, research and also your lesson plans.

I think though Facebook may be fun to use and is a great way to talk to friends, it actually has many side effects. More negative than positive, if you were curious. Below describes some of these negative side effects.
There are many negative effects of Facebook such as Less Social Interaction. Though you may have a lot of friends on Facebook, how often do you interact with them in the real world? Come on, you are human! Humans are supposed to be social.Facebook will reduce your social skills, communication skills, as well as verbal skills if you spend most of your time with the internet. Bad for Health. You reduce your physical activity, since sitting in front of the monitor and snacking all the time is not good exercise. By the end of the month, you have made yourself become less attractive in front of your opposite sex, due to excessive weight gain.
Reduce the Time for Study. You still go to school, right? So, why don’t you stop browsing Facebook now, and flip open your books so that you can study? Less Family Concern.
Family comes first and foremost. Do these words still have its meaning for Facebookers? Sometimes, Facebook friends are more important than those of family members.
The last is Possibility of Conflict.If you are addicted to Facebook, maybe you know about the immense amount of immature people who create irritating status updates or embarrassing photos from the weekend. These actions are definitely a very good way to set up conflicts with others.

Cyber-bullying- On Facebook it is very easy for cyber bullies to thrive. They can harass and/or gang up on one person even easier than they could in a school environment.

Ruined relationships- Facebook is notorious for causing couples to break up. Let's face it, no one wants to see their girlfriend/boyfriend telling other people that they look cute, or liking their pictures, or instant messaging them constantly. It builds up jealousy, which causes quite a bit of tension in a relationship.

Insecurity- Facebook is a cause for insecurities due to the fact that it makes people compare themselves to others. How can you not when all you see is pictures of your friends and acquaintances on your newsfeed?

Stalker friendly- Facebook is a very stalker friendly website. Theoretically, someone that you don't even know can say that they go to your school, add you, and get all of your information. This may include your phone number, house address, and locations you visit frequently. Not to mention the fact that they will be able to go through all of your pictures and get to know you completely without you ever knowing. This is a scary thought, but it is a real issue.

and has changed the way people socialize with one another.
There is enough material on Facebook to keep you engaged all day long.
You might love it but you are at a risk, at the cost of your privacy.
You may not be aware of the dangers you face

The bad effects of facebook are;
- It is a waste of time: If you check Facebook for 15 minutes each morning,
then check it again for 15 minutes during lunch and 15 minutes
before you go to bed, then add five minutes here and there
when you’re at work, then count distraction and refocusing time,
you will lose at least half a day every week.
- It causes depression: when tweens and teens spend too much time
on social media, leading them to turn to “substance abuse,
unsafe sexual practices, or aggressive or self-destructive behaviors.”
- It's addictive : The more time you spend on facebook,
the more you loose interest to things and people around you and
finally you start to ignore them and stuck on facebook all day
and night doing nothing but checking up on people.

Some bad affects is always occurred with me.
Sometimes,I chat facebook with my friends,and
always keep going the internet for many hours
untill go to bed so late.
It makes me do nothing. It also wastes my time a
lot in all my diary life such as don't do homework,

But I think if we have strong discipline with ourself,it doesn't our problem anymore.

I’m not suggesting you should not communicate through it, but I do not think your life should revolve around communication through this website. Facebook makes it extremely easy to find and keep in contact with friends and family. With that said, it keeps us away from interacting outside of the internet. We now send out email invites to parties and celebrations through here, chat instead of making the phone call, and send emails instead of writing a letter. A lack of face-to-face communication can really hurt the way we interact with people. We may not realize this at first, but it becomes apparent when we feel awkward trying to actually speak to someone. It increases antisocial tendencies because there is no longer direct communication with another person. I think the biggest, negative impact Facebook has on our lives is loss of privacy. For instance, if you do not set your profile to private, anybody has access to every piece of information you decide to share. Potential employers can easily search for you here and find all of your personal information, including some posts or pictures that may ruin your chances of getting a job. One negative post can affect the way people perceive you as a person. Even if you do set your profile to private, there are still ways people manage to see things you are doing on here. An example would be if a friend of yours “likes” a photo or status you have, it will notify their friends of this, therefore the privacy setting is overthrown. You have to be careful as to what you actually want to share for anybody to see. Facebook is a wonderful place to keep in contact and share all your wonderful moments, but I also believe it is important to understand the negative impacts it can have on us. The traditional ways of communication are falling to the wayside, creating a culture of people who are almost afraid to interact with people. Your privacy and security are important, now more than ever, in this age of instant information. Most importantly, I think we need to remember to spend time with our family and friends outside of the internet and enjoy our time together.

Facebook has so many benefits and it also has bad effects -- waste of time, lots of virus, lots of games, etc.
I can say that now I'm addicted to Facebook. I log in every day and spend a long time on it.
Sometimes it can cause a misunderstanding situation.
Someone us it to sell goods or to say bad things of other people.
Somebody is addicted to games on facebook and spends a lot of time there.
It causes murder by using facebook like in many crime news.

I think there is no such thing as disadvantages to the social networking sites. Its neutral and is of many good usage, but the love of this this sites is the root of all kinds of negative results. If you are addicted, you don't have to blame these sites. Have discipline to restrain from using these sites.

The problem is privacy. You probably should edit your preferences and do NOT allow anyone to see any information about you if he's not in your friend list. Try not too use the little ridiculous apps too.

Facebook misleads. Take the following event (borrowed from a Facebook friend). A bloke you knew in high school, whom you’ve not met or spoken to in real life since you left high school, has got married. He posts pictures of his wedding taken by a snazzy professional photographer. The pictures gather hundreds of likes and comments. Your friends shower your high school mate with congratulations. There are discussions about the bride’s dress, the tasty food, the fancy hotel, but absolutely no one knows that the reason they are really getting married is because the bride is pregnant with your mate’s baby. Facebook leads us to walk around with the completely wrong idea about our friends’ lives. So holiday pictures are over-liked. Stressful outbursts go unshared. A new job is immediately updated. Being fired is never made note of. Your friends might subscribe to a lot of “Causes”. In real life they do nothing about those causes.
