Pineapples are also popular for their ability to build and maintain strong bones. This is because these fruits contain manganese, which is a trace mineral that your body needs to build bones and connective tissues. In fact, if you consume a cup of pineapple, you can already get 73 percent of your total body requirement for manganese.

Keeps Gums Healthy
People are always very concerned with their teeth that they sometimes fail to give importance to the gums, which are equally essential since they hold the teeth in place. If a person has unhealthy gums, his/her teeth would be in bad condition, and eventually will fall out. Eating pineapple will strengthen your gums that will help keep your teeth healthy and strong.

Pineapple juice contains bromelain, a natural anti-inflammatory enzyme. This enzyme can rival potent pharmaceuticals such as NSAIDs and steroids. When bromelain is combined with Indian spice “turmeric” it is even more potent. It also aids with digestion by helping the body break down proteins. It helps healing of bruises and can alleviate arthritis pain. Pineapple juice contains thiamine and B6. Thiamine belongs to the vitamin B group. It helps convert carbohydrates into energy and boosts the immune system too. The vitamin B6 stabilizes the blood sugar. Moreover, Pineapple juice is rich in potassium which promotes kidney function. The potassium helps you with electrolyte balance, which help with muscle cramps and soreness.

Pineapple is a highly versatile fruit that you can enjoy as a dessert or a pick-me-up, include in salads, main courses and cakes or use as a garnish for meats and vegetables. It's available fresh year-round and is sold canned, frozen, candied and juiced. Pineapple is good for you, because it supplies a significant amount of vitamin C, potassium and manganese. The golden-yellow fruit also is free of fat and low in sodium. It is a source of fiber and also contains an enzyme associated with healing and preventing certain major maladies. Pineapples are naturally fat-free and low in sodium. One cup of pineapple chunks contains 2 mg of sodium, which is negligible. The USDA urges Americans to consume less than 2,300 mg of sodium a day, and the American Heart Association says those with high blood pressure or other heart-related ailments should restrict their intake to less than 1,500 mg a day. Do you know I really do love eating pineapple. LOL!!

Pineapple is rich in vitamins including vitamin C, which is essential for immune system function.
