Sharing about some of cruel women's fashion in the history!

1. The Corset  
When we think of the uncomfortable western women’s fashion in the history, most people jump to corset. This clothe is originally develop in ancient Greece but it became popular during the Victorian Era. Women wore laced body braces that were tightened about the waist to create women body in to the hourglass figure. The women waist is about 14-16 inches. It’s too small
Why the Corset become to be the cruel fashion? Because wearing the corset too tight can shatter women ribcage or maybe make the women faced in suffocation problem. It’s also making our internal organ out of the shape. This thing is quite bad for our health.
There was one sad story about wearing the corset. In 1903, there was one girl died immediately because her heart is attacked directly by the tight corset made from the steel.

2. The Crinoline  
Crinoline Skirt or as we call the umbrella skirt was very popular for the high society women in the past, 19 century. Even wearing the crinoline can make you beautiful like the princess but it can make your like unsafely too. There were many cases in the history show us about the trouble of wearing the crinoline but the worst case was happen in 1863, Chili. It was Sunday morning, Christians usually went to the church but unlucky there was the fire happening and everyone try to run out of the church. It was pity that they can’t came out because of the crinoline skirt block the exit way. Finally, there were about 300 people died in this accident.

3. The Lotus Shoes    
Now, let’s move to the eastern clothing culture. “Having smaller feet is sexy” and “If women have big feet it very hard to get married”. I want to introduce you to know the Lotus Shoes from China. It’s very famous for Chinese people in the 8 century. From the Dunk dynasty legend, the empire creates this kind of shoes, the lotus shoes, to make his concubine walk uncomfortable because his girl did the adultery in palace. For the innocent citizens, they didn't know about that true story, so they keep making their feet into small shape to follow the palace trend.
Walking during wear the lotus shoes is very hurt for Chinese women and it was much uncomfortable. Can you image of the bad situation like house on fire. How can the Chinese women run out of the fire if their still wear the lotus shoes.

Because powdering and maintaining wigs were both time- and wallet-consuming activities, powdered wigs quickly became a status symbol across Europe, worn only by the richest and most important citizens. It would probably still be popular today, that is if wearing one hadn’t been a one-way ticket to the guillotine during the French Revolution.

In my thinking,the crule woman's fashion is the fashion to show your body such as your leg,hand ,back and other.I know it will make woman look very sex but in other way It can attract the dangerous come to you too.

Hahahaha It seems to be very difficult to talk about this because I don't that much about this,
but I want to express my opinion about your presentation in the class room.
As you said that the cruel clothes in the past are very dangerous
so many people were suffering from these.
I think it's because of the materials that make them feel very tight and tough,
as a consequence they die from these.
So in nowadays we are in the new generation right?
we have to create the new ones that should be useful and less dangerous.
